HI TI Support,

We have developing an application which requires three modes of dc power supply (12V, 5V, 3.3V). For that, we require to design Low cost SMPS Board that can supply those three power supplies (12V, 5V, 3.3V).

Furthermore, the end application of SMPS is in energy meter to supply motherboard.

Kindly suggest an IC for SMPS Design that can fulfill our requirements.

Moreover, Suggested IC has reference design and available in stock.

Here,specifications are described for better understanding:

1. Input Voltage - 80V to 240V AC
2. Output Voltage - 12VDC, 5VDC, 3.3VDC
3. Output Current - Supply 1.5A to 2A.

    Hello Nilesh,

    You will first need a PFC controller after rectifying the universal AC input. If your total power is >75W, then PFC is required per EU standards. What is your total output power? This will determine what PFC controller is optimal. Please see our PFC controller selection guide. Based on your requirements, your total output power is likely <100W. A low cost option is the UCC28056 single phase PFC controller. 

    The output of the PFC stage will be 390VDC. After the 390VDC, the voltage must be stepped down to 12VDC, 5VDC and 3.3VDC. A half-bridge LLC controller is a good fit. We have reference designs that show multiple outputs similar to your requirements below:

    Additionally, you can order the PFCLLCSREVM034, which gives a full AC to DC solution. All the LLC solutions use various LLC controllers. But, I would recommend the UCC25660 since it our newest LLC controller. The UCC25660 can work with all the designs I have linked.
