BQ24171: Battery cannot be fully charged

Hi Team,

The customer uses 2 string batteries. The battery voltage is set to 8.4V. Before charging was terminated, the battery voltage was measured to be around 8.38V, but after charging was terminated, the battery was not actually fully charged, only around 8.28V. May I ask what is the reason?

Hi Annie,

The root cause is likely too much series resistance between the charger battery sensing voltage and the battery cells. I would have expected something like as explained in the FAQ at the link below.
