UCC28881: Pin 6 connection confirmation

Hi team,

Considering the quality of manufacturing, what will happen if pin5 and pin6 are connected with tin? Does the PIN 6(N/C) without any connection with DIE and floating only?

If PIN5 is connected with PIN6, will the PIN6 creepage distance inside be insufficient?

Thank you for the query on UCC28881.

I am not sure on the question on Tin. Yes pin 6 is internally not connected.

It is not recommended to connect anything to pin6.

sorry for the mistake translation , Tin present the solder, If there is a short circuit between the pins during welding and PIN6 is connected to a high-voltage signal like pin5 , will it cause damage? and will the PIN6 creepage distance inside be insufficient?

Hi Allen,

I checked internally and also most of the reference designs, the behavior in case of short is not clearly documented. However it is recommended to avoid this. I will see if can get more information on pin 6.
