UCC14240-Q1: VDD-VEE Set to 18V , but resistor tolerance have it lower 18V

HI team,

Customer wants to set VDD-VEE =18V for gate driver bias. However, when typical resistor value set as 18V, due to tolerance of resistor can make it lower than 18V. What does the device behave? Is it acceptable to the device if 17.x V is acceptable for gate driver?

Hi Hayashi.

No problem. The device can handle slightly lower values for (VDD-VEE) than 18V.

Hi Manuel,

Understand that the device can handle. What about the output voltage will be? Will it be slightly lower or clamped to 18V? I expect the limitation comes from the transformer ratio, so it'll generate slightly lower voltage than 18V?

Hi Hideki,

As long as your input voltage is in the range of 21V<Vin<27V, output voltage (VDD-VEE) will be 18V or slightly lower.
