TPS6594-Q1: Question Initial operation

Part Number: TPS6594-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDA4VH

Hello PMIC team!

I have configured a board to drive TDA4VH by applying TPS6594133ARWEQ1,

but I would like to inquire because the PMIC does not work.

* Input status
1. VSYS_3V3: ok
2. VCCA_3V3: ok
3. OVPDRV : ok
4. EN_DRV: ok
5. nPWRON/ENABLE : ok

*There is no voltage output from the VOUT pin, only the waveform below,

only the waveform below  comes out once from VOUT_LDO2 pin.

* Please tell me what hardware needs to be checked.

  • Hello Seung,

So this output waveform shows 15 power up attempts, which means it hit the recovery counter and will no longer power up until the VCCA power (through VSYS) is turned off completely, a cold start.

It does this because an error was encountered during the power sequence.

Now there are two ways in order to find out the cause:

    1. Reading back on I2C to read back the interrupts that caused the error, device address 0x48 and register addresses 0x5A to 0x6C.

    2. Probing with an oscilloscope to see which rail stops coming up to see where in the sequence it stops.

Or a combination of both, I suggest doing 1. before trying 2. if you could as it will tell you much more detail than a scope capture would if it's not a power rail error.

From the datasheet on the TO_ACTIVE:

    BR,
