TPS254900-Q1: Choke location and size

Part Number: TPS254900-Q1

Hello all,

If a choke was to be added, would it be preferable to have it between the SOC and the TPS254900-Q1 or between the TPS254900-Q1 and the output port? Do we have any recommendations on choke values? Trying to optimize the design for eye diagram performance.

Thanks,

Robert

  • Robert,

The location of the choke will not matter when it comes to improving the RF performance of the system, but putting it between the connector and the TPS25480 will dramatically improve the IEC ESD performance of the system, so they are almost always placed as close the the connector as possible.

    Regards,
