Hello,
Is there a recommendation on combining both output channels as a single output? The way I see it is that the outputs could be combined before the voltage divider and output filtering, which would allow a single set of passive components and both output channels would utilize the same voltage divider as feedback. This should allow both outputs to be relatively close or almost identical to each other. My worry is that if there are two separate outputs with two sets of passive output components, then when combined after the output filtering, they may be slightly different to each other. Would that cause issues with the device?
Hi Josh,
If you need 2A LDO's, we have options available for you. Just let us know your key requirements (Vin, Vout, Iout, noise, PSRR, etc).
If you still wish to use the TPS7A88-Q1, you can parallel the channels using ballast resistors. We have recently published new comprehensive guidance on how to do this. See the links below. There is also a parallel LDO calculator that takes all of the math in these white papers and places it into an easy to use MS Excel spreadsheet. There is no VBA in this Excel file, it's just math equations so you should be able to download it. We don't have the TPS7A88-Q1 in the calculator but if you need us to add it, we can do that.
