TPS6594-Q1: I2C does not work well

Part Number: TPS6594-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDA4VH

Tool/software:

Hi,

What can make the device I2C not work well? There is one device that shut down suddenly and I want to know what happened by reading I2C register. But the read value is random and all address is the same. So I think there is something wrong with the I2C. What should I check next? And WCCA is not UV or OV.

  • Hi Zehui,

Would you be able to provide more information about device OPN (orderable part number)? Also to checking VCCA, VIO, VOUT_LDOINT and VOUT_LDORTC voltages is must to have.

Are there scope shots about I2C transaction? Is I2C working normally when device is powered?

    Br, Jari

  • Hi Jari,

TPS6594133A-Q1 for TDA4VH. I already find there is some noise at VCCA when TI-DL is running. And when change the LDO2 threshold from 5% to 10%, no shut down anymore. It makes sense that LDO2 is 3.3V and when VCCA is out of 5% LDO2 has an error. But I don't understand why I can't read register by I2C. According to experience before, reading INIT register is a good way to find the reason. I2C is working normally before shut-down and after shut-dwon I don't see any difference of waveform except response is random and wrong.
