BQ27621-G1: Will connecting 5V to VBAT cause IC destruction?

Part Number: BQ27621-G1

Tool/software:

We plan to use the BQ27621 to measure battery voltage.

However, in some use cases, the battery connector may be connected to a 5V DC power source instead of a battery.

In this case, a voltage of about 5.0 to 5.25 V is applied to the VBAT pin.

Abolute Maximum Ratings for VBAT are up to 6V.
However, the VBAT of the LDO Regulator and ADC is limited to 4.5V.
