Hi
We are using BQ24780s smart charger for charging the battery.
In this there is a pin CMP IN where we give the battery voltage to a resistor divider circuit (where the R1 value is 715K and R2 is 180K) .
When we able to measure the CMP OUT w.r.to battery voltage (12.8V to 16.8V)Keeping CMPOUT threshold 2.3V the CMPOUT pin does not go high or low based on the comparator voltage.
The Independent comparator De glitch time is given as 01 in the charge option register..
Whether the CMPOUT can be configured to our controller to read the battery status.
Kindly help us to solve the issue.
Hello Max,
I'm reviewiing your question, I will provide an update by EOD Wednesday.
Best Regards,
Christian.
Hi Max,
We are in US holiday thus there can be a delay in response. Are you testing on our EVM or your board? If it is tested on your board, can you please share the schematic with us so we can test on the EVM with configuration close to your schematic?
Hi
IN EVM also we tested we could not able read the HIGH or low of the signal
Hello Max,
I'm setting up an EVM, to replicate your issue. I will provide an update after I gather more information.
Best Regards,
christian
Hello Max,
I was able to get the CMPOUT to go High/Low, So I want to confirm that this matches your setup on EVM.
I replaced R36/R35 with the 715k and 180K resistor that you selected.
I didn't change anything in the registers.
JP3/JP1/JP2/JP5 are populated.
VBUS=20V
VBAT=12-16V
Best Regards,
Christian.
