TLV709: Output voltage accuracy

Part Number: TLV709
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS709

Tool/software:

For the output voltage accuracy, there seems  two parts.

One is the internal reference, and the other part is output voltage accuracy.

The customer is calculating the maximum output voltage.

So whether they should considering 1.24V + 4% error? Which means when the output voltage is 15V, the maximum could be 15*(1.24/1.205)*(1+4%)=16.05V.

Is it right?

The voltage accuracy is not so good. The customer is worried about this.

Could you explain how we get the output voltage accuracy -4%~+4% and get rid of the customer's concern.

  • Hello,

    Thank you for your question.

What is the customer's load? Will the device be tested at greater than ambient, Tj=25C?

The +/-4% is correct if going over temperature and load. These values are found through final test and validation by qualifying the parts for their datasheet specifications.

For better accuracy, we recommend choosing a TPS device, such as the TPS709 device.

    Best,

    Hannah
