BQ77915: Wiring batteries in parallel

Part Number: BQ77915

Tool/software:

I'm working on a system that is powered by two batteries in parallel, with each battery having 3 cells in series. If I have balancing leads for each cell in each battery, can I wire both of them to the same BQ77915 monitor? Or do I need to use a separate chip for each battery?

  • Hello,

You do not need a separate chip for each cell. Many of our customers use battery packs with parallel cells. You can wire both parallel cell leads to the same respective VC pins, because they are in parallel the voltage should be relatively the same.
