Hi, 

I have a solar cell with MPP = 4.5V, 40mA and VOC = 5.6V. I want to harvest power from it at maximum power point and run a 100ohm load at 3V as the energy is available from the solar cell. There is no need to use a battery in my design and I want to just use a 100uF capacitor instead of battery. 

Can BQ25570 be used for such application and what is the efficiency I can get from it in such scenario?

    Hello,

    The absolute maximum input voltage for this part is 5.5 V. The open circuit voltage of the panel is above that. Please use at your own risk. Please attach the minimum 100 uF to BAT.

    This part is over ten years old, we did not collect efficiency data at the requested operating point. Please design according to your application.
