Tool/software:
Hi TI Experts,
I have some questions about using the TMP468 with the BQ40z50-R5:
Thanks in advance for your assistance!
Best regards,
Steven
Hi Steven,
As stated in the TRM, the SCL/SDA of the TMP468 should be connected to TS3 and TS4 accordingly. Should we still add pull-up resistors to VCC (I'm using 1.8V as the power source for TMP468), or can we directly connect SCL/SDA to TS3/TS4?
Since this is communicating in I2C I believe that pull up resistors will be required. Please allow us to confirm this.
The BQ40z50 supports 4 thermistors, but our customer requires 6 temperature sensors. Can we use the TMP468 for additional temperature sensing without utilizing TS1 and TS2 (disabling them in this case)?
I believe it can, please ensure TS1 and TS2 are disabled in the Temperature Enable register and that 10kOhm resistors are grounded to their pins.
When using TMP468, will the BQ40z50 use the temperature values from the TMP468 for temperature-related protection and the IT algorithm?
Yes, I believe they will. Below is the initial description for this feature:

OK, thanks.
Hi Steven,
These pins do require external pull ups for communication.
