Earlier this week I was using a bq24765 EVM to charge/discharge a 4S lipo battery through a bq20z40 EVM. I was able to charge and discharge the battery successfully and carefully put the work away. I attempted to reconnect the system today and could not get the charger to start charging. I connected the bq24765 EVM directly to an EV2300 and found that I could no longer read any of the registers using the bq24765 evaluation software. When I attempt to read a register the software returns "read Error". I have followed the procedure in SLUU415 multiple times and succesfully checked the test points, everything seems to be working except the SMBus communications.
Upon further digging, I found that using the bq24765 evaluation software I can read the registers under the EEPROM Test Mode Screen without error, I just can not read the registers under the application screen.
Can anyone think of what might have happened or any other methods of debugging this issue?
Thanks,
