Hi,

We have to use a battery gas gauge for our product. But our batteries are charged with an external charger.

We think used a Bq27210, what's happened if we unplug batteries to charged them and plug.

Does the coulomb counter  work only on the discharge?

    Normally the bq27210 is used to track charge in and out of the battery since it has no initialization method of its own.  If you are inserting a fully charged battery, then you would need to initialize the bq27210 as already full, then let it track the discharge only.

    Generally, the bq27210 is used as a "pack-side" gauge, which means it is embedded inside the battery pack, so it doesn't matter whether it's charged using an external charger or in the system.
