Differences between the BQ40z50 and BQ40z60 devices.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ40Z60

My customer has asked about the differences between the 40z50 and 40z60 devices. They were looking at the 40z50 first., but noticed that the 40z60 was released. I sent them the comparison from the web, and they asked if there was any other information available regarding the differences.

Here was there response: "Thank you for your e-mail. Unfortunately, the table shows feature lists that are nearly identical.

Anything else that you can provide about the feature/functional differences would be appreciated.

Thanks,

John

  • The primary difference is that the bq40z60 has an integrated NVDC charger. The gauging and protection features are almost identical. You can use a 1 mohm sense resistor on the z50 and a 5 mohm sense resistor on the z60. We have to limit the sense resistor value on the z60, due to noise sensitivity due to the integrated charger. The z50 can support 1S - 4S packs and the z60 can support 2S - 4S packs.
