BQ24072T: Minimum Charge current setting of BQ24072T

Hi,

We have used "BQ24072T" battery charger in a design.We have requirement to use 450 mAh battery with maximum fast charge current rate 225 mA here. But in "BQ24072T" datasheet  mentioned charging current  range is 300 mA to 1.5 A.

We have tested practically configured charge current of  "BQ24072T"  by set resistor between ISET  to VSS 4.02K & measured charge current during charge cycle by multi meter it shows 219 mA for period of constant current region.

Please let us know is there any problem with "BQ24072T" using charge current below 300 mA ?

If someone can help to know about this thread.Kindly please reply.

    Hi Ravindran,

    It is possible to use this device below the quoted 300mA charge current, but you will see reduced charge termination accuracy (in your case, ~2.5% accuracy). If better charge current accuracy is required, you will have to have the setting above the 300mA threshold.
