TPS61071-Q1: About TPS61071-Q1

Part Number: TPS61071-Q1

Hi

I have three questions about TPS61091-Q1.
1.
The VFB is typ 500mV(±10mV) at Ta=25℃ in datasheet.
Could you tell me the VFB over temperature?
2.
Is the L1 of equation (3) and (4) the maximum average inductor current?
3.
It is written that "6-pin thin SOT package (DDC) is RθJA = 130°C/W"  and "Specified regulator operation is assured to a maximum ambient temperature TA of 85°C" in  10.3 Thermal Considerations,.
But RθJA is 139.1℃ in thermal information and Ta_max is 105℃ in Recommended Operating Conditions.
Which is correct respectivity?
Is the PD(max) of equation(8) max loss to be able to lose in specified Ta?
Best regards,
Yokota

  • Hi

Please let me ask you a question additionally.

    The inductor value was about 20uH by equation(3) and (4) under Vin=3.3V, Vout=5V, Iout=120mA.
    But this device recommends 2.2~10uH.
Acording to Fig 1, this device  is evaluated under Vin=3.3V, Vout=5V.
Could you tell me the inductor value and the reason of used it at that time?

  • 1. i can't answer this question now. i need to find more information.
    2. the L1 is the inductance. i would suggest using 4.7uH for your application. there is no improvement in performance with 10uH.
    3. this chapter is to explain how to estimate the junction to make sure it is not higher than 125oC. Actually the ambient temperature is not important, just ensure the the junction temperature below 125oC. by the way, the actual "RθJA " depend on the real layout and wind condition.
  • I apologize for my lack of knowledge.

Could you tell me the reason that the 4.7uH as L1 is appropriate under Vin=3.3V, Vout=5V and Iout=120mA?

  • mostly from experience. you also can refer to this application note "www.ti.com/.../slva797.pdf"
  • hi yokota-san
about the reference voltage, we don't have data over temperature.
