Hi, this is a mini-project for my undergrad module. Most of the controllers i see are in TSSOP packages which my school lab is not equipped to handle, hence my need for a DIP package. My specs are: Vin = 36V to 48V (DC), Vout1 = 24V @ 1A, Vout2 = 12V at 1A, Vout3 = 5V at 0.1A.

hi Ken,

there are not so many choices, so you have to like either tl2575hv or lm2575hv...
these come in PDIP, but consider also the TO-like options...

I was told i could use a TSSOP to DIL converter so i am open to using TSSOP controllers. Can you suggest some high efficiency controllers?

hi Kenneth,

this won't help you much because you have anyway to solder the TSSOP package on the adapter...
if you can do it, then you can do it on the actual board/pcb without the need of an adapter, at least for what I understood from your enquiry...

in this case you might consider the LM5015 or the pair LM5021 + UCC27714 ( like in the reference design www.ti.com/.../PMP10215 )
