TPS54302EVM-716: switching frequency issue/ start up fail when hevay loading

Hi,

1. My customer used TPS54302EVM test (no change, all using EVM original setting), they  found static load but switching Frequency is shift around 360kHz~400kHz,

Is it normal? If yes, could you explain why caused switching frequency shift? You can refer to below attach file.

2. If load a over 2A loading at output side, than start up the TPS54302, it will boot up long time, seems trigger some protect, could you please help to check why cause it?You can refer to below attach file.

This EVM is no any change, all using EVM original setting.

    Hi JeffYC,

    1. TPS54302 has Frequency Spread Spectrum function to Reduce EMI, the Centre switching frequency is 400kHz. So the switching frequency shift is a normal phenomenon.

    2. From the waveform, it seems that OCP happend during the start-up time. What's the loading, Resistance or CC of a E-load? please make sure the output capacitance is not too large or the current rising rate is not too high.
