TPS62410-Q1: TPS62410-Q1 Unused channel

Part Number: TPS62410-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62290-Q1

TPS62410-Q1 Unused channel

The customer does not use BUCK 2.
I want to confirm the termination of the following pins of the unused BUCK converter.

 EN2
 ADJ2
 SW2

  • Why using a dual DCDC converter for one output only? I would recommend to use a single DCDC converters instead, like TPS62290-Q1. It is smaller and can handle the same output power.

Anyway, if the second converter is not used I recommend to disable it by connecting EN2 to GND. I think ADJ2 and SW2 can be left floating.
  • Thank you for reply.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------
After generating the board pattern of TPS62410-Q1, the specification was changed to only one output.
Since it is not possible to change the board pattern, it can not be changed to another device this time.
(Customer will consider other devices in the next prototype.)
    --------------------------------------------------------------------

EN2 and SW2 are terminated as shown below.

     EN2 :Connect to GND
     SW2 :Open

Since ADJ 2 is an output signal, I will connect to GND like the following E2E answer.
     e2e.ti.com/.../613939

     EN2 :Connect to GND
     ADJ2 :Connect to GND
     SW2 :Open

    Is this OK?

  • I would prefer to connect ADJ2 to a voltage which is higher than 600mV (ADJ2 regulation voltage if enabled). But since EN2 is connected to GND, connecting it to GND should be ok as well.
