TPS61221: TPS 61221/61220 or TPS61031 does not have the efficiency. It has at least 6mA current drawn while not connecting to any load.

Part Number: TPS61221

Hi there,

I m designing a boost converter using either TPS 61221 or TPS 61031.

I have two layouts for these two converters using the standard layout provided by the datasheet.

Both of the modules are able to output 3.3V as the design requirement.

However, when i set up the power consumption.

I connect the current meter between the battery and the module.

It always shows a 6 mA while it does not connect to any load.

I connect a one 1K resister it shows 10.51mA.

It doesnt really make any sense to me as the datasheet shows that it has high efficiency.

If the load is not connected. It should not be consuming so much current.

I have some attached pictures.

Please advise how to reduce the power consumption. or advise any thing wrong ?
