UCC28610: Question about UCC28610 design

Part Number: UCC28610

Hi team,

would you please help with some question about  UCC28610 design? thanks

The recommended operating condition in its datasheet Figure 34, and I want to get your help of below questions, thanks!

  1. Whether D1 between DRV and VDD pin can be replaced with an ordinary diode? And what is the difference?
  2. The capacitance of Cbp is recommended in the range of 0.1~1uF.

How much do you think of the capacitance value of Cvdd is needed?

3. Whether the diode Dbias between ZCD and VDD can be removed or not?

Kevin

  • Dear Kevin,

    Thanks for your questions here.

1.In my point of view, will suggest to use Schottky to reduce the current go through the body diode of VDD switch. If you use normal diode here may not help to reduce the current go through the VDD body diode because the higher diode forward voltage.

    2. For the Cvdd, the datasheet suggest larger than 47uF, and EVM use 68uF.

3.The Dbias is necessary for auxiliary winding to provide energy to Cvdd.

    Best Regards
    Kevin
