LMZ23608: Dynamic Output Regulation

Part Number: LMZ23608

I have been using LMZ23608 as voltage regulator for one year and I get very good results. I have been using a Voltage constant control mode by RFBT and RFBB, but I wonder If I could use a Power constant control mode leaving unmounted RFBT and RFBB and using Share Pin to control the Output. Perhaps, I could mount RFBT and RFBB to set the nominal output, and then, use Share Pin to adjust Dynamically.

If it is not possible, could you help giving me an alternative? I would need a DC/DC converter with a remote sense pin and a Trimmer option.

Thank you in advance for the help.

  • Hi Francisco,

The  SH pin  is purely meant to be used in a current share application with multiple LMZ23608 modules. I don't think you will be able to control the output with this pin. If you are looking for dynamic ability to trim the output voltage on the fly, perhaps keep the RFBB as 1.07kOhms and use a potentiometer on the Rfbt to adjust the output voltage. The RFBB value was picked from the LMZ23608EVM User Guide. Most power modules will require a minimum of 4 external components (Cin,Cout,Rfbt,Rfbb) to complete the power solution. Fixed output power modules will have the Rfbt and Rfbb internal to the device so only 2 external components are need to complete the power solution.

  • As an alternative, perhaps you can adjust the output with a DAC like this one:
