TPS7A37: Input current ripple

Part Number: TPS7A37

Hi,

My customer has a issue at TPS7A3701.
Input current has a ripple.
Customer used PSU as external power supply.
and he used 30cm cable and 15cm cable.
The input current ripple of using 15cm cable is bigger than 30cm.
Could you give me a advice of the cause, please?
I show detail of this issue to attached file.

  • Hi Shimizu,

Since the output voltage and output current do not show the same oscillation it does not look like the LDO is causing the input current ripple. Some power supplies have different bandwidth modes and the ability to do either local or remote sensing. Depending on your power supply, the input current oscillation could due to the output settings.

Are you only powering the TPS7A37 EVM or do you have additional devices being powered by the same supply? If you do have additional devices being powered, what happens when you isolate the TPS7A37 and only power it?

    Very Respectfully,
    Ryan
