Hi,
For bq24610, my customer want to use a MCU to change the ISET1 pin voltage based on the battery pack in formation, I know there are two ways to realize it.
High level implementation ideas:
Using the Vref and resistor divider, they may be able to turn on/off different segments of the resistors to give various voltage on ISET1.
Using a current source into a resistor, they may use MCU to control the current source to give certain voltages on ISET1.
The customer also has some questions about the pre-charge function. For the Iset2 is used for pre-charging. However, it seems the pre-charge time and detection of charge termination of bq24610 have been specified. Actually, the customer will have a MCU with SMbus interface for reading voltage/current/temp from battery pack, and they want to control the pre-charge current/time according to the information from battery pack when the battery voltage is between 1.5V and 3V. Could you advise if this IC also can achieve this requirement by using different resistor divider network on the ISET2 pin, which is similar way to the method on ISET1 pin?
Thanks.
