Hello TI,
May I know TPS92692 Analog to PWM function can implement 12:1 dimming?
I calculate 12:1 ratio, it result PWM frequency need design in kHz. There has any side effect in this situation? please help recommend for me, thanks!
Hi John,
Please look at section 8.3.10 DIM/PWM Input which explain this. You set the frequency that you want to PWM...For most application the PWM frequnecy (FDIM) should range from 240Hz to 1KHz. This is done with a cap to RAMP pin to ground. The value of the cap can be determined by equation 5 in the section.
The internal PWM signal can be varied from 0% to 100% by setting the DIM/PWM pin voltage between 1 V and 3 V. Equation 6 describes the relationship between DIM/PWM pin voltage, VDIM and internal PWM duty cycle, DPWM(INT).
For 12:1 ratio that is equivalent to 0.0833 duty cycle and you can set a resistors divider from Vref to ground to get the calculated VDIM.
Thanks Tuan
