TPS55165Q1-EVM: How do I check working current of DCDC?

Part Number: TPS55165Q1-EVM

Dear Helen.

When I choose DCDC, I consider several factors.

1. I out

2. V in range

3. Switching frequency.

4. Iq (It depends on application.)

5. Theta Ja

....

But I didn't find working current in datasheet.

If I make low power or battery driven system, I think, working current is important factor.

So how do I check or where to I find that factor?

Can you provide test report or other application document about that?

Thanks.

BR.

  • Hi Sir,

Please make sure the on board Vin is high enough to make the converter startup. The on board voltage is different with the input power supply output voltage. there will be a voltage drop on the input trace.

Another point is to check the layout, what is the main difference of your board and the EVM board. Read the datasheet carefully, make sure the Vo_sense,, Vreg_Q, Vin pin........ connected well according to the suggestion of the datasheet.
