TPS25221: Reverse current blocking operation of TPS25221

Part Number: TPS25221

Hi

I have a question about TPS25221.
This device has reverse current blocking when disabled.
Could you tell me this detailed operation?

Best regards,
Yokota
  • Hi Yokota,

The substrate of the switch MOS tube inside TPS25221 is independently grounded, so its body diode is a pair of reverse diode when Disable, so it has the ability of reverse current protection.

    Best Regards,

    Kevin

  • Hi Yokota,

The part uses back to back MOS structure as following shown.

Apply Vin=3v and Vout=5V to creat the reverse condition.

As disabled, Mos will turn off.  Due to we use back to back structure, the reverse current will be blocked by the parasitic diode.

If any, contact me any time.

    Thanks.

    Ziv
