Hi ,

Our spec is Vin=5V, Vout=4.75V, Imax=0.4A.

Can TPS73701 meet its spec?

If not, do you have another suggestion?

    Hi ,

    Yes TPS737 is able to fit your application conditions stated.  Dropout is linear with respect to output current as shown in Figure 3.

    As such we can use a simple ratio and the dropout specification provided in the Electrical characteristics table.

    Vdo_0.4 A / 0.4 A = Vdo_1 A / 1 A

    Vdo_0.4 A / 0.4 A = 500 mV / 1 A

    Vdo_0.4 A = 200 mV

    Since your application has more than 200 mV of headroom (Vin - Vout), TPS737 will be able to achieve a regulated output.
