Hello E2E,

During operation, when not connected USB connector that how much the voltage for D+/- port?

Regards,

ACGUY

  • Hello ACGUY,

If there is no device connected to the USB port, then there will be no voltage presented on the DP/DM lines.
  • Hello Adam,

    Is it floating? or 0-Voltage?

Currentry, when there is no device connected to the USB port, D+/- ports have internal Vref voltage.
    D+ : 2.7V
    D- : 2.0V
    Is it default state?

I think that their voltages are not affect for normal operation for TPS2511.

  • Hello ACGUY,

Appologies as my initial comment is wrong. I mentally thought that you were using the TPS2546 (another USB charger family of devices I support) instead of the dedicated charger controller of the TPS2511. What you are seeing is correct for the TPS2511 as well as for the TPS2546 if it is in DCP_Auto mode.

The TPS2511 integrates this DCP_Auto functionality which allows for it to charge BC1.2 compliant devices as well as non-compliant devices. The sequence is outlined within 7. 4.2 of the TPS2511 datasheet, but the TPS2511 starts by advertising the non-compliant charging scheme of Divider 2, which puts 2.7V on the DP pin and 2V on the DM pin.

Hope this answers your question, and I apologize for any confusion.
