Question: I notice our previous best selection of 5V @ 80 amp module from the top-rated vendor only has 83% efficiency when input is 380V DC
This is no longer acceptable in our design.
We are using UCC28780/sync rectification with all GaN approach in many other lower current modules..
Can we imagine extending Active clamping with energy recovery to 5V 80 amp?
EPC GaN devices have a lot of current capability, can be paralleled...with primary side all GaN(NV6117?)...ZVS/ZCS operation, what can go wrong with achieving very high efficiency in this topology?
(we have figured out how to use EPC in sync rectification...)
