LM2831: Enable threshold

Part Number: LM2831

Hi team,

Can I clarify the meaning of the enable threshold? The datasheet says Shutdown Vth = 0.4Vmax, and Enable Vth = 1.8Vmin. For that description, will the device be enabled or disabled between 0.4V - 1.8V, it means "undefined". Is it correct understanding?

Best regards,

Takeshi Sasaki

  • Hi Takeshi,

you are correct. Any voltage above 0.4V can possibly enable the device, but the exact threshold depends on manufacturing tolerances and various operating conditions, e.g. on the temperature.
Therefore, to disable the device, the EN pin must be driven below 0.4V. To definitely enable the device, it must be driven above 1.8V.
