Hi teams
My customer is used TPS2546 in a BT speaker project. This BT speaker has a USB charging output port for an external portable device for charging.
We design with TPS54302+TPS2546 to achieve 5V output with BC1.2 and vbus current limit function.
Customer recently request to pass MFI certification but i am not sure could TPS2546 could meet their requirement?
Below is my question:
- For MFI certification are Auto mode or "force DCP divider 1" mode should be configurated?
- As TPS2546 will discharge the VBUS output and stay low for at least 1S, I suggest customer to operate under force divider 1 mode.
- Are extra MFI chip is needed in our BT speaker? Or we just need an MFI compliant USB cable?
Below is the test result from the customer. They feedbacks that the D+/D- voltage level still not meet MFI requirement.
