TPS65261-1: V7V pin of TPS65261-1 is not output.

Part Number: TPS65261-1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65261

Hi team.

Customers will use TPS65261 under the following conditions:

 PVINx = 5V

 Vout1 = 1.1V , Iout1 = 0.28A

 Vout2 = 1.5V , Iout2 = 0.52A

 Vout3 = 1.0V , Iout3 = 1.25A

The customer wants to control the sequence of this IC with the following configuration

.

                                                figure1

But V7V was not output in this configuration.

If the connection was changed as follows, it worked as expected.

                                                 figure2

I want to know why V7V is not output when configuration of figure1.

Vest regards.

  • Hi, Teri

    1. V7V will work when (EN1 or EN2 or EN3) are high, in other words, one of ENx is high, V7V will output.

    For figure1, after power on, V7V LDO is in disabled status, V7V node is low impedence, it will pull ENx low, so V7V will never output.

    2. Actually, ENx pin has pull-up current, when power on, pull-up current will charge Cenx, so you can disconnect PVINx connection.

    Besides, Renx can be removed, they are not must have.
