Could you please confirm if BQ24450 is the best solution for below requirements? Thank you.

1. DC Vin = 14V

2. Charge power as 12V/1A

3. Used for 12V/6.5Ah Lead-acid batteries

Hello Kane

The BQ24450 is a linear charger and will work well with smaller battery, lower charge currents and voltage. At higher charge currents and voltages the power dissipation on the pass transistor becomes excessive.

A better solution would be a switching charger such as BQ24650 it can be adapted for Lead acid Batteries. See application note SLVA437A.
