Is it possible to characterize this data? We are looking for solution where we have highly capacitive load (1...2mF) on device output. Charging this load will cause excessive heating on device. We need to assess the heating of the during turn-on event.

For the worst case, the part has short circuit protection. It will not break the part as with high current.

We only have the stable thermal data as datasheet indicated and guaranteed.

High power event during turn-on takes only 1-10ms. Do you see that it is feasible to use stable thermal data for that short event? Calculation based on stable thermal data show that device thermal shutdown threshold limit is exceeded --> circuit won't work.
