ULN2803A: Can I use one ULN2803A to drive a resistive load and an inductive load with different channels?

Part Number: ULN2803A

I use one ULN2803A to drive a resistive load (heater) and an inductive load (fan) with different channels. The resistive load and the inductive load are powered by the same power source. the power source is conneted to the ULN2803A COM pin. I am wondering if whether the switching of the inductive load will effect the working of resistive load? I do not think it will help if I use two independent ULN2803A so long as the loads are both powered by the same source. Whether the switching of the inductive load will effect the working of resistive load?

  • Hello,

The channels in the ULN2803A work independently from the other channels. This means that there shouldn't be any problem with the ULN2803A driving both the inductive and restive load. I hope this helps.
