BQ24295: Adding Current Sense Resistor to Charging Circuit

Part Number: BQ24295

I am designing a battery analyzer for an LiFePO4 battery. I would like to charge it charge it to 3.5V at 2A fast charge current and then discharge through a power resistor both while measuring the current on the battery low side through a 20mOhm resistor. The measurement will be taken using a 4 wire kelvin bridge with a buffered ADC which should be non-invasive. My question is will this negatively affect the performance of bq24295 in any way?

The coulomb counter circuit uses Maxim DS2740 and is shown below

  • Hi,

The BQ24295 is able to work with fuel gauge together. It should be ok. But the BQ24295 has not been not tested with DS2740, it is highly recommended to evaluate the BQ24295 EVM with DS2740 before working on your own design.

    Thanks,

    Ning.
