About D+/ d-detection,
USB Host or Charging Port D+/ d-detection Compatible to USB Battery Charger Spec (BC1.2)
1. How long will it take to start D+/ d-detection after plugging into the USB
2. How long will each D+/ d-detection last? What interactions did you have?
3. After the first D+/ d-detection, is it possible to conduct D+/ d-detection again and again? How long is the interval? What is the frequency?
4. Whether the D+/ d-detection of BQ24295 will be affected if BQ24295 is connected with the D+/ d-chip of bluetooth?
5, when plugged into the computer USB, how to set to ensure that the output charging current is 500mAh, not 200mah or lower.

  • Hi,

    1. Depending on the input adapter type, the input detection may take 330ms to 1 second.

    2. Please refer to 8.3.1.4.4 D+/D– Detection Sets Input Current Limit on the d/s.

    3. After D+/D- detection is completed with an input source already plugged in, the input current limit is not changed unless DPDM_EN (REG07[7]) bit is set to force detection.

    4. Not sure what is being referred to. It is highly recommended to get familiar with the BQ24295 charger operation by evaluating the BQ24295 EVM before working on your own design.

    5. Use ILIM pin. A resistor is connected from ILIM pin to ground to set the maximum limit as IINMAX = (1V/RILIM) × KILIM. The actual input current limit is the lower one set by ILIM and by I 2C REG00[2:0]. The minimum input current programmed on ILIM pin is 500 mA.

    Thanks,

    Ning.
