TPS7A66-Q1: Input impedance at VIN pin

Part Number: TPS7A66-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS7A02

Hello ,

Can you please tell me the input impedance at VIN pin?

I am connecting VIN pin to battery via a diode and my customer has requirement of high resistance between  battery and GND( in the range of 100 Mohms).

So I would like to know how much impedance is there at VIN pin?

Thanks,

Abhishek B

  • Hi Abhishek,

If you take the quiescent current and use that with your input voltage, you can determine the effective impedance.
If Vin = 10V and we approximate the quiescent current as 8uA at room temperature, then the effective impedance would be 10V / 8uA = 1.25 megaohms.

This increases to 5 megaohms when the device is in shutdown mode.

If this is insufficient you may want to consider the TPS7A02 which has much lower quiescent current values.

    Thanks,
