BQ76930: interfacing the chip with the microprocessor in the reference design TIDA-01093 Industrial Battery Management Module for 20S Applications Reference Design

Part Number: BQ76930
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ76940, , BQ78350, TIDA-01093, TIDA-00449

In the docuemntation of the "Industrial Battery Management Module for 20S Applications Reference Design" there is no reference code or instructions

for the management of the BQ76930 by means of the microprocessor. In other evaluation modules like "bq76930 and bq76940 Evaluation Module"

the bq78350 performs BQ76930 managements and gauge functions.

Where I can find information regarding the mangement of the BQ76930 ?

Thank you

Pasquale

  • Hi Pasquale,

Correct, they did not release reference code for the MCU with the TIDA-01093, or a hardware interface or code to communicate with the design.  Those details are left to the implementation important to the end system.

The TIDA-00449 included reference code for the MSP430 used on that design to show basic communication and measurement with the BQ76930 by a MCU in a battery. Certainly that would not include stacking but may be a useful reference.  See the "More literature" section of the TIDA-00449 tool folder for the firmware.
