LM62435-Q1: Convertion of input 24VDC to stable 5V @3A

Part Number: LM62435-Q1

Hi,

I am planning to use "LM62435-Q1" for converting 24VDC to 5V, 3A.

5V is supplied to external components (Load cell) using a connector, in industrial environment.

5V@3A supply should be stable as this is the important requirement for our customer.

Is "LM62435-Q1" part is suitable for the above purpose? If not please suggest me which part goes well with the requirement.

Thanks,

Dinesh KS

  • Yes, this device is suitable.

Ensure you operate at appropriate frequency for board condition and desired losses, but you might want to consider the adjustable frequency variant LM61435.

On a lot of typical application boards, 25degC/W-30degC/W board rtheta can be obtain without too much effort.

With determine loss, and estimated board rtheta, estimated junction can be calculated

tj = tamb + board rtheta * loss
