Since there is no way to adjust the compensation (it is internal), the loop gain will change depending on the output voltage adjustment (feedback divider network).

Using a Cff generally allows to counter this effect at higher frequency, to get improved bandwidth and transient response.

This is emulated current control, another reason may apply if Cout is too large and shifts the LC resonance frequency.
