Hi Team,
Posting on behalf of our customer. They want to know how the calculations are done for the main transformer in the 600W design app note which uses ucc28950: www.ti.com/.../slua560c.pdf
They are using the same IC for their 700W design and followed few documents regarding the transformer design. But when it comes to practical winding, the window area is falling less for the calculating design and they are facing problems in inserting the core. If you could provide a reference document regarding the calculations and winding of the transformer for PSFB, it would be very helpful.
Thanks in advance!
Kind Regards,
Jejomar
Hi, Jejomar
I assigned expert to go through your question. please give some time to investigate.

Hello,
That transformer was designed by Vitec for Texas Instruments. I have attached the data sheet for your reference.75P8107_110509.pdf
When it comes to transformer design we depend on magnetic manufactures to design the transformers for our reference designs and evaluation modules.
I have used company's like GCI, Renco and Wurth. You need to just give them the turns ratio and RMS currents of the winding and they will design the transformer for you.
If you would like to design your own transformer, which it sounds like you do. Mag-Inc sells magnetic core materials and bobbins and has many design tools and application resources that you can use to help you with your design.
