TPS62153: Destruction of TPS62153 (maybe thermal)

Part Number: TPS62153

Good evening,

I have some issues on a board I have designed. I have replaced a LM2578 by a TPS62153 to create a 5V rail to provide power for a MPU (ATMega1284P and a lot of HCT devices).

LM2578 on an older board ran fine, but not TPS62153.

This is my schematic's main sheet :

If I connect a power supply (5V) directly between 5V and GND, this board consumes between 130 and 140mA (expected value). If I connect a power supply directly to J1 (9V) with a current limitation (1A), power supply shows a short circuit. I have tried to increase input voltage to 12V and... I've only obtained a short circuit between Vin and 5V ! I suppose I have done a mistake but I have read again its datasheet without having found a solution.

Of course, I have verified that my symbol corresponds to datasheet. Exposed pad is connected to ground plane. I don't understand my mistake and help will be welcome.

I use canonical schematic given in datasheet. Vin is about 9Vdc and expected output is 150mA.

Best regards,

JB
