TPS552882: TPS552882 switching frequency setting

Hello Team,

The customer would like to confirm whether TPS552882 support the following operation.

To be specific, at first TPS552882 is turned on by the internal clock (frequency setting by SFW pin), then FPGA starts operating and outputs an external SYNC clock, after that LM5145 operates in synchronization with the external clock from FPGA.

Is it possible to operate above using TPS552882?

Hi Akihisa,

i'm not fully sure about your question. the device operates at the frequency setting by FSW pin, until a external clock with frequency of 70%~130% of the setting value is applied to Sync pin.

is this the behavior you need.

I have an additional question about reverse operation.
Does the device operate at the frequency setting by FSW pin if the external clock with frequency of 70%~130% of the setting value is removed at Sync pin?

Hi Akihisa,

yes, you are correct. if you need synchronous function, please set the device to force PWM mode. refer to setting in MODE pin.
