LM5164-Q1: What would be expected when Vin below 6V?

Hi team,

The datasheet states the minimum input voltage is 6V. What would be expected when the input voltage is below 6V, such as 4.0V-5.0V? Would it output the same voltage with input voltage?

The output voltage is 5V with 10-200mA output current.
EN/UVLO is directly connected to VIN.

Kurumi,

Operating at less than 6V runs the risk of hitting internal UVLO. The internal linear regulator needs at least 6V to properly regulate to provide power to the internal circuitry so we have internal UVLO to disable the device before the insufficient voltage may cause unpredictable behavior.

Thank you so much for the reply. There is one additional question.

The customer actually tested with 4-5V input and experienced 2-3V output. I guess the internal UVLO has some variety. Is there any parameter/Electrical-Characteristics on internal UVLO?

Kurumi,

The only parameter in the datasheet is in Table 6.3 - Recommended Operating Conditions which states VIN: 6V MIN. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee any predictable operating condition below that voltage.
