TLC5948A: Question about group delay of TLC5948A.

Part Number: TLC5948A

 Hello guys,

One of my customers uses TLC5948A for their current products.

They have a few questions about group dely of TLC5948A.

Could you please give me your reply?

TLC5948A has 4 group delay to reduce inrush current at output turning on and off.

Each group delay typical time is that tD2=36ns from GSCLK rising, tD3=62ns, tD4=88ns and tD5=114ns.

  So the order of delay time is tD2 < tD3 < tD4 < tD5.

The customer question is the follow.

Q1. Is there any possibility that the order is changed like tD2 < tD4 < tD3 < tD5 with product, voltage, temperature valiation?

Q2. Do you have any equivalent shematic of those delay generation portion?

Or Can you explain me how to generate the delays in TLC5948A?

Your reply would be much appreciated.

 Best regards,

 Kazuya.

  • Hi Kazuya,

    1) Yes the order would not change in different condition. They should have the same influence to all 4 groups.

    2) Sorry that this device is old and we have no much material to explain how delay feature works. There are some buffer circuits inside to delay the channel on/off signal from GSCLK to each group. Every group have different buffer number.
